Diy Fabric Zebra Dresser

Have you ever tried redoing a piece of furniture using fabric.  Well I do it all the time on chairs and such.  But not as much when comes to adding it to a dresser or table.  So today I'll show you the 2nd piece of furniture I've reinvented using fabric.  The first one can be found here with instructions too.  

Diy Upholstery Chairs

Today's topic is re-upholstering chairs.  Since I have decided to open a boutique which focuses on home accessories, I've had the pleasure of reupholstering several chairs. I wouldn't say I'm a professional at it, but I do consider myself a Professional Diy'er of Sorts lol.  What I have learned is many of the chairs are made very similar.  Recently, I've published several posts on my blog providing instructions about the subject.  They can be found here and here.  

Dining Room Makeover

I'm so obsessed with blues right now that it's not even funny.  I painted a gazillion walls and furniture pieces with it.  Today I'm showing a dining room revamp done in the famous turquoise blue.  All items purchased used in this space are in some form or fashion thrifted.

Before: The fridge of course doesn't belong in this room.  However, it was spray painted black and put in the kitchen using 2 cans of appliance spray paint. Dresser in the middle of the floor was also repainted using oops paint in a yellow and placed in the bedroom.  The 1st makeover can be seen here and the 2nd makeover here.

Den to Master-- Yellow Dresser--Revisited

From time to time I like to revisit what my home or homes, furniture or pieces of furniture and what they looked like before and what has happened to them over the past years.  More of a "Where are they now?" type of thing.  If you haven't seen the revisit of a the Star Burst Mirror click here.  

In this post I'm speaking on two things... the Den and the Dresser. Well which is it...? A Den or Master Bedroom?

Painted Goodwill Find $24

So I'm still working on this beauty but I wanted to show you the space that it's going into

The project that I'm working on now is revamping my craftsmen style home in Chattanooga.  I plan on using all second hand items or items found on clearance.

  The brown and blue color combination has been re-painted with a gray.  The first room I am working on is the Den.

.  Now this room has served it's purpose but now I want to turn it into a bedroom....Here are a few more before and afters... 

Beautiful 8X10 rug isn't it.  I purchased it from Garden Ridge in Kennesaw, Ga for $99!

I want to go with an Eclectic Hollywood Regency look.  Although this is not a style that I have mastered and not quite sure how it will turn out but I'm giving it a shot.

 

Work in progress... that's actually a sofa.. Looking for a full size bed! Stay tuned for more updates...

The Thriftiest Décor in America 'Our Bedroom!'

Alrighty… here is the video tape that I sent to The Nate Show. Hopefully, they will be contacting me soon! Yippee… They were seeking the thriftiest people in America and hey I figured I was one of them. LOL! What do you think?

Any who here it is. I am showing the Master bedroom in my Chattanooga home. A little history behind that>>>… I met and married my husband Louis who is a professional Truck Driver several years ago.  I first saw him in Wendy’s on my lunch break and we just spoke. The following Sunday he was at my church.. or our church. Never saw this man before then. How ironic is that right!!   11 months later we were engaged!!!

So anyways…after church  we talked and I gave him a card and told him that I was an interior designer and that I also do weddings. He said “well I want need a wedding planner anytime soon but I could use your services for my house.”… and Lord was he right.

I also at the time had my own home which we are now renting (because I moved in with him).  It took him a while though before I saw his home. Maybe about 6 months after we had been dating!!! And boy were my eyes surprised.. he couldn’t been more right. SWEETY I LOVE YOU ANYWAYS!!  Here is the before picture.
